A book entitled “Oodgeroo, My People, La mia gente” has recently been published in Italy, which proposes for the first time in Italian a part of the poem by Oodgeroo Noonuccal, born Kath Walker, Australian aboriginal poetess and activist (1920-1993).
The launch of the book was held at the D’Albertis Castle, Museo of World Cultures in Genova, as part of the exhibition Breakfast in Melbourne and Lunch at Yokohama, as part of the newly launched series Black Australia. Give spaces through translation [Black Australia. Ridare voce con la traduzione]. The author, Dr Margherita Zanoletti, spoke about the reason for the book and her trajectory in Australia, along with Museum’s Director Maria Camilla De Palma and Dr Giusy Prayer.
