Aboriginal Archives in Italy<\/em> is an online space created to promote dialogue and facilitate collaborative research about archival records held in Italian institutions that contain information about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and histories.<\/p>

The goal of this research project is to increase the visibility and accessibility of this documentation while providing a participatory space for replies, curation, and storytelling.<\/p>

At present,\u00a0Aboriginal Archives in Italy\u00a0<\/em>is a prototype and only offers a sample of this content \u2013 new records will be added as the project grows.<\/p>

Consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums) professionals and Community members will drive the development of this platform into the future.<\/p>

This project has been created by\u00a0Monica Galassi<\/a>\u00a0as part of her doctoral studies at the School of International Studies and Education at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FAAS)<\/a>, University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and in partnership with the\u00a0Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research<\/a>\u00a0and other Italian\u00a0partners<\/a>.<\/p>

The fish traps are a complex network of river stones arranged to form ponds and channels that catch fish as they travel downstream.
