Welcome

Welcome to the Australian Room, part of the exhibition Breakfast in Melbourne and Lunch at Yokohama.

The central theme of this section is the importance of the D'Albertis Castle's archival collections (and archival records held in cultural institutions in general) for the support of Aboriginal self-determination and sovereignty and on the process of reconnecting these records to their communities of origin. It also proposes examples of how to apply cultural protocols to an exhibition that contain images of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that are held outside Australia, to respectfully work and talk about these images and stories.
You can click below from your laptop or mobile to access further content related to the themes of this room.
We hope you enjoy the visit.
